Equipment Weekly / 3 fittings to facilitate the maneuvering of boaters

We are always looking for the right fittings to improve our deck layout or to make life easier on board our boat. Here is a selection of three small products to help with navigation.

Ronstan Tiggersnaps

Ronstan, imported into France by Bucher+Walt, has developed a range of load-releasing carabiners. This model is not a revolution, it exists with other manufacturers, but it is a very interesting model in terms of price. The Trigger is a quick release carabiner that can be opened under load with one hand or by using a carabiner opener. Made entirely of stainless steel, it is available in 6 sizes with a small or large swivel. From 80 to 123 mm long, it covers working loads from 1000 to 2400 kg. From 185 euros to 227 euros

Wichard Soft Eye cadena to stick

Very used in ocean racing, the textile frames to be glued bring many solutions to the sailors: matossage cloth, rope restraint, equipment suspensionâeuros¦ It is said that we counted nearly 80 of them in a Class40 of the last Route du Rhum! The rope is in Dyneema. The installation is easily done without drilling, just a glue with a Sikaflex 292i type glue, or equivalent, or an epoxy glue. The announced workload is 80 kg. Price 2022 : 19,90 euros

Nodus Padeye adjustable glued or screwed

The Padeye Nodus-Padeye SX is a textile cadène whose loop size can be adjusted. Indeed, the Dyneema can be tied in the base. Easy, fast and very simple to install, the padeye SX will support up to 200 kg using Nodus-Loc bicomponent glue. This load can be increased by screwing the padeye to the deck or spars. This multi-purpose textile frame will be practical to hang or hang all the equipments in a boat : banners, canvas, storage pockets, bowsers, light maneuversâeuros¦ Price 2022 : 8,90 euros and 13,40euros for the Nodus Loc adhesive
