Wichard unveils a new self-turning chain-anchor joint

French hardware brand Wichard presents a new accessory designed to simplify mooring maneuvers. Designed for both sailboats and powerboats, this joint is intended to improve the fluidity of maneuvers. A 316L stainless steel device, available from 90 Âeuros, adaptable to the majority of anchors on the market.

During anchoring maneuvers, it is not uncommon for the anchor to present itself incorrectly in the davit, forcing the crew to repeat the maneuver. Based on this observation, Wichard's design office has developed a new anchor-chain junction, which will be previewed in autumn 2025.

A device designed to facilitate manoeuvring

The result of several years' development, this junction combines an automatic anchor reversal system with a "profiled cover". This device enables the anchor to be correctly repositioned in the davit, even when it is raised in an inverted position. This mechanism reduces the risk of the anchor jamming during ascent, and improves crew safety during maneuvers.

Manufactured in 316L stainless steel for extended compatibility

Made from 316L stainless steel, the junction is highly resistant to corrosion and has a polished finish to prevent any rough edges from catching on the davit. Three models are available, covering chain sizes from 6 to 14 mm and compatible with the majority of anchors available on the market.
