Solar panels and electric motors
The Ocean Eco 90 is a 27.5m long superyacht catamaran available with fully electric propulsion and fuel cell compatibility. The first hull has been completed and Alva Yachts will now begin interior outfitting for a planned launch in late 2023. A second model will follow in late 2024. As on all the catamarans of the range the roof has been specially designed to accommodate 200 m2 of integrated solar panels. These should ensure an almost unlimited autonomy, with the possibility of crossing the Atlantic, by providing up to 40 kWp, in addition to generators. The solar energy is then stored in batteries with a capacity of 140 to 360 kWh, which feed two electric motors of 500 kW. The top speed is estimated at 16 knots.
Two layout versions
Its imposing and modern lines are characterized by an imposing flybridge topped by a bimini, which supports the numerous solar panels. It is available in two different versions:
- Explore with an enclosed flybridge, carbon and stainless steel reinforcements for the hull structure with a main salon without helm station and an upper deck that can be converted into a large lounge-skylounge or owner's cabin with a 360° view.
- Open with an open flybridge with a helm station, skylounge, cocktail bar and spa on the upper deck.
A spacious layout for life on board
Both versions offer a large swim platform, water toys, and spacious living and entertainment areas spread throughout the 14-meter beam. Access to the water is easy from the large aft skirts. The aft cockpit is furnished with U-shaped sofas for 8 people around a table. The main deck has a generous galley with fridge-freezer and a large separate island with bar and stools. On the starboard side, the dining area can accommodate 10 people around a table.
An L-shaped observation lounge accompanies the helm station, which has a clear view forward. The two side companionways companionways amidships lead to the lower deck.
The generous master suite has sitting areas on each side of the bed, a desk and a dressing room leading to the private bathroom with double sink. The starboard hull is furnished with a twin cabin and its bathroom. Two double cabins with bathrooms and two single cabins for the crew are installed in the port hull.
The front beach offers two L-shaped squares and large deck chairs, as well as storage lockers and a cool spot.
