A saddlery that has been around
Composed of about ten elements, the Ecume's upholstery is made of brown skai with a foam padding. Dating back to the launch of the boat, in 1975, it has suffered a lot of damage and deserves a refurbishment

Our budget does not allow for a complete change, so we will be doing a thorough cleaning and refurbishing of the fabric.
Vacuum and disinfect the fabric
The first wash could have been done with water, but we prefer to use a powerful vacuum cleaner for this first pass. The vacuum cleaner allows us to effectively remove dust and dirt embedded in the nooks and crannies and zippers.

We then apply white vinegar to the surface of the fabric, which we scrub with a soft sponge. Ignoring anything that may have happened during the first 47 years of our Seafoam's life, this application disinfects the surface and cleans even the grossest stains.
We then spray a black knowledge, which we rub with a magic sponge, in order to remove the dirt in depth.
Fixing the addicts

Some of our covers have small tears, so we sew them up so that the damage does not get worse. To do this, we completely remove the dust from the affected parts and put the fabric on a sewing machine. Some fasteners, eaten away by salt, will not survive this manipulation and will have to be replaced.
Apply a renovator

The market offers many products for the renovation of fabrics. For reasons of versatility, we have chosen Nautic Clean 21, which can be used on all kinds of fabrics. It is applied on a dry surface, and the product must be sprayed on the whole surface to be treated in order to avoid stains. We apply it with a soft brush, before wiping the excess with a microfiber.
An economic result

The cleaning of our complete saddlery will have cost us a few tens of euros, counting the consumables and the zippers to be replaced. We can't expect to get a new saddlery after such an operation, but the crew will nevertheless be able to settle on a clean and healthy saddlery.
