The Best of Boat Awards, also known as BOB Award, is a worldwide competition with an international jury. Each year, the jury, which includes journalists from many countries, including Bateaux.com for France since 2022, elects the best motorboats, each in one of the five categories in contention. For 2022, the panel being reduced in the fishing category, 4 categories have been selected. The four winners will be revealed at the Boat & Fun Berlin 2022 show on November 24.
The 18 finalists were chosen by the 16 members of the jury after several rounds of testing over the past 12 months. The selection is based on usage and not by boat length, as other competitions may do. It only concerns boats launched between September 2021 and September 2022. The season will have been intensive, with nearly 100 models tested, but only about 20 are eligible for this award, which is one of the most prestigious in the boating industry.

This year, we find a complete panel of the different ranges of the market. Newly created brands such as Ryck, but also Delphia Yachts and its concept of electric boat or the American brand Wellcraft which makes its return in Europe.
The major shipbuilding countries are represented, such as France, Italy, Finland and Poland, but also lesser known countries such as South Africa and Denmark. RIBs, family cruisers, sport boats, displacement hulls and catamarans are represented at the Best of Boat Awards 2022.
