One month and 900 km travelled
For three months, Sébastien Roubinet, Eric André and Jimmy Hery will travel the virgin lands of Antarctica. The Nagalaqa expedition is to bring back data to the scientists of this unknown region. Aboard their 7-meter catamaran-sailboat, the three adventurers have already traveled 900 km. Leaving on June 27, 2022 from Sachs Harbour, on Banks Island, they must reach Spitsbergen by passing north of all Canadian and Greenlandic lands.
Breathtaking images
Their journey alternates between sailing and walking, during which the three men have to pull and push their 200-kilogram boat with a 300-kilogram load. Helped by a drone, which allows them to trace their route, they slalom between the ridges and the frozen waters, in a landscape of incredible beauty. Bears, belugas, seals and southern whales are encountered along the way.
After a month of expedition, the first images sent are magnificent and of a purity that we want to share with you.
