From mid-June 2022, the Offshore Film Festival takes its summer quarters across France, Switzerland and Belgium. Always in its logic to bring the sea to the city, the adventure film festival honors sportsmen and water sports enthusiasts.
For this 5th edition, the organization puts the spotlight on the sea through foiling, surfing or sport catamaran and the river, thanks to kayak and canoe expeditions. Passionate about the sea, adventures or simply a lover of beautiful images, you can enjoy 5 broadcasts of 7 to 50 minutes, followed by interviews with the various protagonists, directors and actors. The public will be able to take part in the different exchanges.
The 5 films on the bill
Foil Collection euros 7 min - Olivier Sautet

"A real immersion in the heart of the foileuros universe! Thanks to incredible images, you will discover the best of this discipline: surfing big waves, jumps, speed and always the pleasure of sliding. Be careful, this film will make you feel like you're in the eye!
Trouble: The Lisa Andersen Story euros 50 min euros Chas Smith

"Lisa Andersen is a four-time world champion professional surfer. However, her life is far from being a long quiet river. Complicated adolescence, runaways, violent and manipulative boyfriends. It is in surfing that Lisa found her outlet, until she reached the top of her sport. Faced with the prejudices of a very male environment, she was one of the pioneers who succeeded in developing surfing for women. An inspiring and moving film!"
Wild and Still euros 13 min - Hugo Clouzeau

"From the mountains to the ocean, water flows uninterrupted in wild rivers. This kayaker's dream collides with the reality of a modern world that seeks to channel and exploit the forces of nature. To experience the paradox of a wilderness tamed by man, two kayakers decide to travel the entire length of a river from its source in the snowy mountains. A magnificent journey that makes you think about the impact of our societies on natural spaces."
The Long Today euros 17 min - Niobe Thompson

"What better way to celebrate your 70th birthday than with a family trip down the river? This ritual, perpetuated year after year, began with a father and mother's passion for building beautiful wooden canoes. To mark this anniversary, their sons decided to tackle a special river: the Wathaman, part of which had never been paddled. The rapids are long, extremely technical, and some passages are too narrow and require the canoe to be carried. An incredible journey to push back the future and live together in the present!"
Balancing on the ocean euros 52 min - Sébastien Devrient

"Sailing is a sport that sometimes tends to become ultra-technological and sophisticated. Against this trend, Yvan Bourgnon has chosen to attempt a round-the-world voyage on a small sport catamaran, without a cabin to take shelter in, without a GPS to orientate himself... A navigation to the stars, and a return to the roots of adventure for a maximum commitment. An exceptional adventure, full of twists and turns, for an unforgettable film
