Robust triple outboard boats
No more fishing, now it's time for baroudeuros! This is the new bias of the bénéteau Group for its american brand Wellcraft . After six years of producing open hulls for offshore fishing, Wellcraft will now focus on producing strong, fast boats for sailing from adventure to adventure, whatever the sea conditions.
A design by the Bénéteau Group
The first model signed by Michael Peters, Pawel Denert and Camillo Garronni is the Wellcraft 355. Although the Vendée-based shipyard emphasizes an American touch, the Bénéteau design is clearly recognizable, whether in the lines or the layout.
This boat, with its closed wheelhouse and inverted windshield, is in the tradition of the Axopar, Nimbus and other boats from the north. Nevertheless, the forward cockpit has a raised sundeck for 3 people, as on the larger models in the Leader WA range. Many models are also equipped with the cupola door, as well as the sliding side door of the cockpit equipped with the Wellcraft 355.
Three outboard motors
Access to the cockpit is through two doors framing the triple outboard engines with a total power of 1050 hp. The shipyard has announced perfect sea keeping and a top speed of about 50 knots. According to the first images released by the Bénéteau Group, the Wellcraft 355 has a fairly slender straight bow.
Navigate well protected
Inside, the wheelhouse once again reflects the pure Bénéteau style with a fully equipped galley on the port side and a saloon opposite. The two-person cockpit appears to have a spacious dashboard. The space between the interior and the cockpit can be opened up thanks to the tilt and turn windows. Below deck, the Wellcraft 355 offers a forward cabin with a double bed and en-suite bathroom with separate shower. A total of 4 people can sleep on board.
