In March 2021, the Multi50 class became Ocean Fifty and introduced a new race circuit called the Pro Sailing Tour, a mix of offshore and inshore races. The class unveils its program for 2022, with new destinations and a new crew.

New destinations for the Pro Sailing Tour

After a successful 2021 season won by Leyton (Sam Goodchild) with 4 out of 5 victories, the 2022 season looks just as promising. The Pro Sailing Tour Season 2 will be concentrated in two months, from May to July 2022. These 4 euro events, instead of 5 euros, will take place between the Mediterranean and the English Channel, with a majority of new destinations.

The first race will be held in Bonifacio, Corsica, the second in Brest and the third in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc. The final is an offshore race format from Cowes on the Isle of Wight (England) to Roscoff in the English Channel.

As in the first season, this course mixing inshore and offshore events will allow the competitors to sail in various conditions to ensure the show.

A newcomer in Ocean Fifty

For this 2022 season, we will find the seven crews already competing in season 1 of the Pro Sailing Tour: Leyton (Sam Goodchild) who will be challenging for the title, Arkema (Quentin Vlamynck) under new colors, Les P'tits Doudous (Armel Tripon) who arrived during the 2021 season will once again be part of the race, as well as Groupe GCA euros 1001 Sourires (Gilles Lamiré), Primonial (Sébastien Rogues), Solidaires en Peloton-ARSEP (Thibaut Vauchel-Camus) and Koesio (Erwan Le Roux).

They will be joined by a new member of the Ocean Fifty class, Eric Peron, who has been sailing for several years in the Figaro class. He will be aboard the former Prince de Bretagne on which Lionel Lemonchois won the 2010 Route du Rhum. The trimaran has undergone a complete refit at Mer Agitée, Michel Desjoyeaux's stable in Port-La-Forêt and has been equipped with foils to be on an equal footing with the competition. It is now under the colors of Komilfo, specialized in the installation of solar protection products, joinery and closures.
