A successful bet for SNIM

Threatened by a stroke of sirocco which finally dissipated as the days went by, the SNIM was able to validate the daily races. To achieve this, the organizers had to make a real "tetris" to satisfy the hundred or so competitors and the thousands of crew members representing eight nationalities. In the northern harbor, the Italian Lisa R won the IRC1 class. The IRC2 title went to the Hérault-based First 40 RC Seven Mani, with 4 wins from 7 races. In IRC3, Brice Aqué won his first Snim, at the helm of his Grand Soleil 37 Sagola. Finally, in the short-handed category, Pierre Perdoux's Ilogan easily won the duos race, while Eric Merlier on Telemaque won the solos race. In the J/70 class, SN Genève's Team 838 won the category.

In the southern harbor, Guy Claeys on Expresso won the IRC4 class.

A successful Spi Ouest France

The 46th edition of the Spi Ouest France was a success, bringing together all the expected ingredients: numerous validated races in all series, and plenty of entertainment ashore. Although the weather on the final day left some classes - Open 5.70, J/70, Diam 24, Mach 6.5, Open 7.50, First Seascape, Osiris A, IRC3 and Mini 6.50 - on the sidelines, the race committee launched the other series on a 22-mile coastal course in Quiberon Bay. At the end of a weekend of racing, the winners were Corentin Horeau, on Open 7.50 Banque Populaire, Pierre Laouenan, CV Ecole Navale in J80, Victor Le Pape, Région Bretagne CMB Espoir in Figaro 3, Gautier Normand, Locmalo in IRC 2 and Mathieu Bourdais, Dimension Polyant in Mach 6.5. In terms of numbers, 156 starts were given, all series combined, 405 boats took part in the event, 106 sailing clubs were represented and 2,500 sailors took part.
