The De Cesari 33 is an elegant 33-foot sailboat built using the molded wood technique by the Italian shipyard De Cesari. Designed for a small cruising program, she is also at ease in regattas, thanks to her deck plan designed to facilitate maneuvers and her rather uncluttered interior.

Wooden and handcrafted construction

De Cesari is one of the last Italian shipyards to build its wooden boats in a traditional way. Its latest construction is a 33-foot sailboat built in molded wood and epoxy resin. This construction technique ensures that the De Cesari 33 has a light displacement of 3,300 kg for an overall length of 10 m (7.90 m at the waterline) and a beam of 2.55 m. Its draft of 2 m remains within the average size for this type of unit. Built in laminated mahogany, it has a teak deck and is handcrafted.

A retro design, a modern rig

Its retro design by Giovanni Ceccarelli is reminiscent of classic yachts, but is inspired by two America's Cup yachts for the hull and appendages that he designed in 2002 and 2007 for the Italian syndicates Mascalzone Latino and "+39 Challenge". Low on the water, it is distinguished by its central cockpit, extended by a large rear deck.

A dayboat for coastal cruising

Low on the water, and without a die, it belongs to the category of daysailers, i.e. it is mainly designed for a day coastal sailing program. Its simple interior layout nevertheless allows for a few weekends on the water: double berth in the bow, galley with sink, chemical toilet and side benches.

Easy to maneuver with a small crew

The halyards and sheets are all returned to the cockpit and the sail plan (104 m2 downwind) is composed of a mainsail with a euro horn as on the auric rigs of classic sailboats - a self-tacking jib and a Code 0 installed on a delphinière, made of carbon fiber and covered with wood. It is also possible to rig a gennaker and opt for a carbon mast and boom.

A long navigation as a means of reliability

Built in the Adriatic Sea for an Italian owner, she then sailed 500 miles to the Tyrrhenian Sea - to participate in the Régates Royales and then the Voiles de Saint-Tropez as a training session. Proof of its marine qualities.

A series to venireuros?

While De Cesari has always been a custom builder, this 33-footer may well be offered in series, or at least the design may be offered to multiple owners.
