The Italian shipyard Persico Marine - which is responsible for the two boats of the challenger Luna Rossa and also for the foil links of all the AC75s in the America's Cup - will build a 70-foot foiler for the general public.
The F 70 was designed by the Spanish designer Carkeek Design Partners, for a dual use: daysailer and racing yacht, with the idea of opening the high technology to the general public.

This boat will be built in carbon composite to gain weight - the boat weighs 10 tons - and performance. The retractable foils will be combined with T-shaped rudders to be able to take off from 10 knots. The manufacturer says it will use a system of retraction and control of the foils from the latest technologies developed for the America's Cup boats or the IMOCA circuit, for a safe and easy navigation.

The design is quite futuristic, with a flush deck and a large cockpit that can be transformed into a sunbed for cruising anchorages. Access to the interior is via two symmetrical companionways. The shipyard has not communicated on the interior of the boat.
If the F 70 is the first model - 21.4 m long - a series should be born.

"70 feet is a mid-range size and does not require a large crew - between 2 and 4 people -, allows this dual use - day cruising or regatta -, meets racing and lifetsyle requirements while considering costs." explains the site.
