Superyacht Kairos, innovative layout and electric propulsion

Kairos is a superyacht project presented by the manufacturer Oceanco and the famous designer Pininfarina. It features electric propulsion, but above all a huge living space on three levels open to the sky.

Asymmetrical shapes and large glass spaces

Kairos is a 90m superyacht project designed by the famous shipbuilder Oceanco in collaboration with the great designer Pininfarina. Its asymmetrical profile design offers a new type of living space to experiment several environments on board. Guests and owners have a living space without borders, like a kind of floating oasis. Kairos' design combines large asymmetrical shapes and huge transparent structures to offer a complete connection with the outside world.

A magnificent atrium on 3 levels

The centerpiece of the boat is a large vertical atrium space developed on 3 levels from the main deck. It offers a view of both the sea and the sky, with large elliptical openings. The layout of Kairos offers both large spaces for social interaction, but also moments of intimacy in the private areas. For example, on the panoramic balcony accessible above the upper deck via an elevator, guests can enjoy a moment of calm and take in the incomparable view of the sea. The cabins are all located on the lower level, allowing for a greater sense of space and circulation through the living areas of the main deck.

Cleaner propulsion

In addition to these large 360° living spaces to connect to the elements, the two partners worked with Lateral Naval Architects on energy, waste, water management and overall environmental impact. In particular, they worked on a compact, silent and emission-free propulsion system.

Thus, the creative design of Kairos is made possible by the development of an all-electric propulsion and power system. The e-Hybrid side system integrates batteries as the primary means of power supply, for life on board, propulsion and maneuvering. Complementary diesel generators recharge the batteries and provide more power for faster sailing.
