A small boat for fishing
The 625 Pilothouse is the third and smallest model in the Quicksilver fishing boat line. It is a compact 5.90 m long and 2.54 m wide boat with a shortened foredeck for maximum cockpit space. It also features an inverted windshield like the other two models, the 705 and 805 Pilothouse, and a high bulwark for safety, reinforced by a large balcony on the bow.

A well-equipped cockpit for fishing
Access to the boat is via the rather large bathing skirts. On the rear, the right bench seat can accommodate 3 passengers. On the starboard side, the backrest can be completely opened by a latch to access the bathing skirts without having to step over it. The seat can also be removed by taking the plate out of its place. On the port side, the backrest is also removable, while the seat covers a livewell (Smart Edition or Fish Pack). Finally, the central bench seat lifts up on the front to easily intervene on the engine.

Also as an option, a folding bench seat can be installed on the port side, while storage for rods or gaff is integrated into the starboard bulwark. Two fish trays are directly accessible in the port and starboard floors, while the center trunk is used for storage. An optional picnic table is available. A 2nd steering position with plotter can be installed in the cockpit.

There are rod holders on the gunwales on each side of the cockpit with foot rails to maintain a good fishing position and padding on the bulwarks for comfort.

A very limited front range
The access to the foredeck - to reach the anchor locker - is done by the starboard gangway, which are asymmetrical. The circulation is rather easy by holding on to the handrails and balcony.

A bright and well-designed cabin
If the heart of the boat is represented by this well-equipped cockpit for fishing, the small cabin is not left out. Although small, it has a high headroom and offers the possibility of sleeping on board by installing several cushions, in exchange for a rather imposing bow for a boat of this size. The starboard cockpit is of good size and receives a Simrad 7" NSS Evo 3 GPS screen. The pilot's chair is comfortable and allows you to drive standing or sitting. A co-pilot seat is located on the starboard side. With the addition of a plate and a cushion with backrest, it is possible to get an extra 3rd central seat. A port side window provides ventilation and a roof hatch can be installed as an extra. A drawer refrigerator is also available as an option. The view to the front and sides is unobstructed thanks to the large wheelhouse window. The standard windshield wiper is essential for visibility.

Smart and well-equipped for a unit of this size, the 625 Pilothouse will delight fishing enthusiasts and their families. Several packages allow you to equip your boat with numerous options such as the Smart Edition which offers a boat with the main options for a fully equipped boat, or the Comfort Cabin, Electronic or Fish Packs.

A boat that holds the sea
As far as sea keeping is concerned, the 625 Pilothouse does well. Despite a short, cross chop, the helmsman remains safe and rides the waves quite well, without too much jerking. It takes turns without too much heeling and is easy to maneuver. Even when seated, the navigation remains comfortable, even if it lacks something to hold on to at high speed.

For our test in the bay of Mandelieu, we had a 150 hp Mercury outboard, its maximum power (100 to 150 hp allowed). After a lift-off at 11.6 knots reached in 4.5 seconds (17.7 lph), the 625 Pilothouse cruises at about 25 knots (33 lph). With the sea conditions encountered, we reached the maximum speed of 32 knots (54 lph), but the performance records provided by the yard indicate a maximum performance of 35.6 knots (54.5 lph).
