Victor is forced to contact a mechanic. After a series of tests on the engine, the two men realize the obvious. It is compulsory to take the engine out in order to dismantle it and find the fault.
After a long audit, the final decision was made: sea water had infiltrated and oxidized the engine. All the mechanical parts were corroded, the engine was dead.
"Mukti's engine was a marinized PSA engine. I couldn't find a mechanic to take care of it. Auto mechanics didn't want to deal with it and boat mechanics didn't know about it. I figured the system was a bit of a mess after all. Changing the engine was expensive, but it's an important safety feature. So I decided to repower the boat. The engine cost me 17 000 euros. The repair cost was 5000 euros, so I deducted this amount from the total purchase price of the boat. I had just received a nice amount of money from a sponsor, so I took advantage of it" explains Victor Rault.
