Cayman 400 WA, a newcomer to the open star market

The Italian shipbuilder Cayman Yachts has specialized in the market of hard-top and flybrider launches from 40 to 75 feet. However, it is a brand new segment that the shipyard is about to invest in with the Cayman 400 WA, a 12.90 m open launch.

A new player in the open star market

The open star market has been on a roll for a few years now. Wally, Del Pardo, Solaris and Fjord are the main players, offering daycruisers with a walkaround deck layout but equipped with cabins to extend the stay on board.

The Cayman Yachts builder - used to producing 40-75-foot launches - has also decided to take the plunge by presenting the Cayman 400 WA, which will be on show at the Autumn 2021 boat shows.

Elegance and luxury

This 12.90 m open launch is the fruit of the Ferragni design studio, which designed the Okean models and some semi-rigid Capelli models. She has an elegant design with a walkaround deck plan protected by a high freeboard even forward. The side decks also seem to be wide enough to move easily on board.

The bow has two opposite benches and a large raised sundeck topped by the cabin roof. In the extension, the cockpit is sheltered by a windshield and a large rigid hard-top that rests on the galley furniture. The dashboard appears spacious, and can accommodate two screens. There are two armchairs for the pilot and co-pilot.

On its starboard side, the console provides access to the cabin, where there is a double berth plus a cabinet from toilette?; a second double berth is available as an option.

At the stern, the large open cockpit receives a saloon opposite with tilting bench seats and a second sundeck, overlooking the bathing platform.

The Cayman 400 WA is available in an outboard version - Mercury Verado 2x350 or 2x400 HP - or an inboard version Volvo IPS 2x500.
