A boat accessible to all
Founded by Ludovic Mechin, Multi cruises offers day trips on an Extreme 40 catamaran from Le Lavandou. A seasoned sailor (he has taken part in two Mini transats, amongst others), the idea came to him when he was a member of the Groupama team, led by Franck Cammas.
"I used to ski this boat during public relations sailing, and I realised that it was perfectly suited to a day-charter activity. It's a simple, fun boat and it's very safe".

How to transform a regatta boat into a day boat?
The Extreme 40 is a one-design carbon nomex catamaran that was used on the Extreme Sailing Series circuit (formerly the iShares Cup)
These regattas around the world brought together the best teams of the moment. In order to ensure the show, the boats and crews were pushed to the maximum, in regattas of anthology.
In 2017, Ludovic bought the boat from the Oman team.

The transformation of this regatta boat into a day-boat has not been easy. Ludovic had to provide maritime affairs with a very thorough technical file to have his boat certified. An outboard to facilitate port manoeuvres and a net in front of the forward beam to increase the passenger accommodation area were installed.
But the boat hasn't been mellowed for all that! The sail area has remained the same. The shrouds, originally made of PBO (zylon), have been replaced by dyneema.

Sensation charters
Capable of carrying 10 passengers in "cruising" mode or 7 in "fast" mode, the catamaran can sail at 20-22 knots, without taking risks.
The velocity of the Extreme allows it to reach the Porquerolles National Park very quickly. With its shallow draught, its high drifts give access to the most remote anchorages.
Another Extreme, based in Cavalaire, allows Ludovic to propose offers for companies, and to create match race programmes by confronting two perfectly identical boats.
This is Ludovic's third season, and clients come back every summer, proof that the formula makes sense.
