The Barracuda Tour becomes the Festival of Sea Fishing and Motor Boating

Today, fishing enthusiasts use boats other than those specifically developed for this passion. It is to follow this logic that the French manufacturer Bénéteau has decided to change the "rules" of its famous fishing competition, the Barracuda Tour. Starting with the name

Now it's time for the B-Tour, Festival de la Pêche en Mer and Motonautisme?! Organised from 15 to 24 May 2020 in the port of Le Crouesty in Arzon, this 8th edition of the fishing competition will be part of a larger event.

A competition open to other units

Because the idea is to open the B-Tour to a larger population, the Antares 7 and 8, but also the Flyers 7 and 8 Spacedeck will now be included.

A model of Flyer 7 Spacedek will be available to win in a competition starting on May 14th. Twenty questions about the event's partners will have to be answered and then drawn from the correct answers.

To welcome more visitors and open up to as many people as possible, Bénéteau will be exhibiting its entire outboard range on the Crouesty docks. In total, nearly 11 models that it will be possible to test in the Gulf of Morbihan, according to a booking schedule established with the manufacturer and its dealer network.

Numerous animations

A stage will be set up in the heart of the B-Tour village - open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the two weekends of the competition - on which several major motorboating and fishing themes will be discussed:

  • Motorboating and equipment How to pass your licence, the engine, the trailer, the maintenance of the boat or choosing your cold storage equipment on board.
  • Electronics and how it works including the proper use of GPS or depth sounder.
  • Safety at sea : with, among other things, a demonstration of how to open a life raft.
  • Fishing and its practice The research of different species and new prospection techniques, such as the tenya, with partner stakeholders such as Daïwa or Fiiish.

The youngest ones will not be outdone since a fishing initiation for children from 7 to 14 years old will be organized for the 3 e consecutive edition. It will be supervised by the volunteers of the Fiish association and will take place on the two Saturdays of the festival, May 16 and 23.

The fishing competition

The Amateur Challenge will take place over the weekend of May 15-17. This qualifying weekend will see all the entrants compete in crews of 4 people (3 anglers and 1 pilot), aboard the Barracuda, Antares and Flyer made available by Bénéteau. The winning crew of this event qualifies for the Grand Final.

The latter will take place from May 20th to 23rd and will bring together the winners of the Amateur Challenge, the Selective Tour (organized worldwide by the Bénéteau dealer network), partner crews and Bénéteau owners. They will all compete fiercely against each other for 3 days.

The crew with the most points will be the big winner of the edition, and celebrated at the closing night.
