Navigate protect
After the successful launch of the Solaris Power 48 Open in September 2019, the Italian manufacturer is returning to its first love, the lobster. The Solaris Power 48 Lobster flybridge (14.35 m) shares the same hull as the open version and part of the deck, but a wheelhouse now protects the cabin. While the first model was typically designed for the Mediterranean market, this second version is aimed at the more northern markets since it is now possible to sail protected, or the American market where the need for solar protection is important.

A lobster boat
This new model has the typical lines of the lobster, an American fishing boat, i.e. a very wide and rounded hull at the bow, very high bulwarks that make it safe to move around on board and therefore a nice interior volume.
At the stern, the beautiful swimming platform allows easy access to the boat and to enjoy the joys of anchorage. As on the open, the rear of the bulwarks unfolds to enlarge the cockpit space and create a terrace overlooking the sea. The large rear garage provides easy access to the annex and toys.

A large cockpit on the sea
Access to the cockpit - which can be secured with wicket doors - is via a step. In this space, the large sunbathing area has been replaced by a bench seat well integrated on the garage hood and a fixed table. There is nevertheless a sunbathing area on board, installed at the front on the cabin roof, which is easily accessible via the very wide gangways. It offers a comfortable surface for at least 3 people. At the front, the anchor locker is easily accessible.

A sober interior
The wheelhouse can be fully enclosed with sliding glass doors. The layout is very simple and very (trop??) sober. The L-shaped galley is located on the aft port side and offers ample storage space. Panels transform the total surface into a large work surface. If you lift them up, you'll find a sink and a hob. Opposite is another piece of furniture with plenty of storage space.

At the port bow, a U-shaped saloon with a table provides a warm dining area, while a two-seater sofa is installed on the other side. With two cabins below deck, the saloon is not convertible, as the Solaris Power 48 Lobster remains a boat for day or even short cruising.

The cockpit is spacious and elegant with a beautiful central navigation screen and leather steering wheel. The double bench makes it possible to drive in a sitting or standing position. The large windshield provides good visibility to the front.

Several cabin layouts
Below deck, the layout is similar to the open version. There is a double cabin at the bow with a spacious bathroom with separate shower and a cabin with twin beds and a second en-suite bathroom which also offers a separate shower. The second cabin can be replaced by a lounge area. It is also possible to have a crew cabin with a toilet.

Piloting from the outside
This model has a flybridge which is accessed from the cockpit via a staircase that is a little difficult to climb. At the bow, the central cockpit is just as spacious as the wheelhouse and offers a very good visibility for piloting outside. At the back, a sunbathing area allows you to relax, but may be a little too small for two people.

IPS propulsion
The Solaris Power 48 Lobster offers two engine options: 2 Volvo IPS 600 or 650. The manufacturer announces a maximum speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 20 knots offering a range of 300 miles. Its hull shape ensures maximum stability and beautiful marine qualities.
A semi-custom layout
If one appreciates the overall silhouette of the boat, which has elegant and contemporary lines - with a touch of classiness nevertheless - the interior of the wheelhouse is quite classic. But remember that the shipyard offers semi-custom boats and that it is therefore possible to customize its layout and decoration according to your desires.
