Licia 24, a motor catamaran for long-distance cruising

The Licia 24

Presented on plans in September 2018, the motor catamaran Licia C24 is now ready to be built. Let's discover in pictures this 24 m long powercat with a adventurous style designed for long cruises.

The Licia 24 is a new concept of motor catamaran with a long range and an expedition boat look. With a superstructure that combines very straight glazing and angular lines, it stands out for its unconventional design. Starting with the wheelhouse on the flybridge, which allows you to sail protected in all conditions.

At the base of this project, Pedro Egea and Françoise Magin, founders of the Spanish Catamaran Center concession and experts in the multihull industry. After having sold many catamarans - in particular the Nautitech brand - for several years, Pedro decided to create the catamaran of his dreams: a boat designed for long cruising and therefore endowed with a great autonomy. Aware of the expansion of the motor catamaran market, it is this propulsion that he has chosen for his model.

To design this yacht that looks like an exploration, he worked with the architectural firm Notilus Design and the interior designer Darnet Design. The construction will be carried out by the Turkish shipyard Taurus Marine, which is already building the Licia Yachts range of Explorer motor monohulls.

For the construction, the designer chose epoxy resin fiber and Kevlar reinforcements for the structural partitions. Below the waterline, the hulls will be laminated in aramid. In terms of performance, the Licia 24 will be fast with two Cummins QSM11 705 HP engines, reaching a maximum speed of 20 knots. At an average speed of 8.5 knots, the boat should be able to have a range of 4?000 miles.

With 175 m2 of living space, the Licia 24 is furnished with luxury and friendliness. The main deck on the same level receives a lounge at the stern, with a rounded bay window that opens entirely to the cockpit. A dining area, a kitchen and an owner's cabin on the bow - with a 360° view and private access to the foredeck - complete the layout.

The hulls are reserved for guest cabins with private bathrooms and crew quarters.

Outside, the space is immense - 190 m2 - and offers many relaxation areas: foredeck lounges, dining area in the cockpit, jacuzzi on the flybridge, etc.

It will of course be possible to customize your catamaran, in terms of layout, equipment or design. Today, the yard is waiting for a first order to start the construction of its first model at a price of 3?480?000 euros excluding VAT and announces a construction period of 18 months.
