Discovery / Merry Fisher 1095 Fly, the outboard cruise with flybridge

The Merry Fisher 1095 Fly

Following the success of the Merry Fisher 1095 launched in 2017, Jeanneau is now offering its largest model of outboard cruise ship in a flybridge version.

Cruise ships over 10 m outboard

Currently, the market trend is to offer motorized cruise ships as outboards. The idea is not to go faster, but to propose to owners of the outboard world to move up the range with larger models.

In 2017, Jeanneau presented the Merry Fisher 1095 a 10.5 m motorized weekend with two 300 horsepower outboards. This configuration is made possible thanks to the increasingly reliable engines and the ease of maintenance of outboard engines, and makes it possible to gain more interior space with 3 cabins in a 10 m boat.

"This range targets the popular cruise market, a market that has been in difficulty for 8 years. The idea - at the launch of the range 12/13 years ago, was to give customers back the desire to cruise with small models from 6 to 7 m motorized outboard. We then extended the range to larger models, up to the Merry Fisher 1095, which is a real success" explains Merry de la Poeze, Director of Motor Boating Products at Jeanneau.

A flybridge version for the Merry Fisher 1095

In 2019, the Vendée manufacturer returned with a flybridge version of its largest Merry Fisher model. An early version from the design of the first model, in 2017, to respect a weight/stability estimate.

"At the launch of the Merry Fisher 1095, we were already testing an innovation, installing large outboards on a large cruise ship. The concept had to be validated before the Fly version could be immediately implemented. But we already knew what the boat would look like. We only proceeded step by step" explains Vincent Piel, Powerboating Product Manager.

The flybridge cockpit

From the same to the same from the hull to the roof

The Merry Fisher 1095 Fly is exactly the same boat from the bottom of the hull to the top of the glass. It is above the roof that the boat stands out with a compact fly. "It's the first motorized fly cruise ship outboard." adds Vincent Piel.

"The idea behind this model is to attract MF 7.95 and 8.95 owners who want to move up the range, but with a flybridge boat or owners who come from 36-foot models, but fly shaft (flybridge with shaft drive)" vincent continues.

Inside, the layout is the same: main deck with facing saloon to port, galley to starboard and cockpit to starboard bow. Under the deck, there are up to 3 cabins: a beautiful double cabin in the bow, a 2nd double cabin on starboard and a smaller 3rd cabin which can also be used as a storage area on port. The cushion of this 3rd cabin is optional. It is also possible to install - always as an option - an additional refrigerator.

A new cockpit table system

Outside, the only difference is a new cockpit table system, which will now be installed on the rear bench.

Access to the flybridge

A functional and well equipped flybridge

It is therefore from the cockpit that the flybridge can be accessed via a ladder that can be folded down against the bay window to open the access trunk at the bottom of the hull.

"It's a real fly, like on the Velasco 37 - renamed since Merry Fisher 38 - which has been integrated into the Merry Fisher range, to create a flybridge range" explains Vincent.

There is a complete cockpit with a double co-pilot bench seat. As an option, it is possible to install a table between the sunbathing area at the front and the bench.

As far as propulsion is concerned, the yard has remained on 2 outboards of 300 horsepower, which gives the boat a cruising speed of 25 knots and a maximum speed of 35 knots. Tests are currently underway with two 2x250 HP engines.

When the Merry Fisher 1095 was priced at ?121,164.00 including VAT and without engine, the Fly version starts at ?146,880.00 including tax. This difference in budget is explained by the number of flybridge options.
