Adapt a wheelhouse to an existing model
The Turkish shipyard Mazu Yachts designs and manufactures luxury motor yachts in open and walk-around deck versions and customisable. But it is a new version that is being launched with the launch of the 42 ST, a 41-foot (12.20 m long) switch. This new model was developed at the request of a customer from the 42 walk-around platform, launched in 2017. It is equipped with a completely enclosed glass wheelhouse around the helm station, similar to the Fjord 44 Coupé, launched in 2018.
The 42 ST retains its elegant, profiled and angular lines. The glass wheelhouse further enhances the boat's military look. It is built using a cold moulding technique (like the rest of the range) to maximize construction strength and reduce the weight of the boat (8 tons).
The boat's programme is that of a shuttle bus to make the home-work trip, thus avoiding the heavy traffic of the city of Istanbul.
A comfortable arrangement for journeys
The 42 ST receives a fully enclosed glass roof around the helm station and passenger area surrounded by large windows and equipped with the steeply inclined one-piece windscreen, characteristic of the first model.
Both the raised helm seats and the passenger seats offer a nice view of the front. Finally, two opposite benches allow users to be welcomed when conditions are right.
Like the 42 Walk-Around, the 42 ST is equipped with high bulwarks and deep gangways to protect the crew in all sea conditions and move with confidence.
In the front cockpit, a U-shaped sofa with a height-adjustable table turns into a comfortable sunbathing area. The aft cockpit is left empty. Inside, a passage between the pilot and passenger seats serves a lower deck cabin with a double berth on the port side and a forward washroom.
The rear platform is long and wide, to simplify boarding and alighting. On the rear, a rack to hold the fenders facilitates their deployment and use during frequent round trips.
But just because it is a boat for traveling does not mean that comfort has been forgotten. Thus, the minimalist style of the Mazu Yachts yard is complemented by alcantara and leather finishes. The most important thing is the lighting that creates a soothing and refined atmosphere.
The Mazu 42 ST is powered by two 435 hp Volvo Penta IPS600s and receives a joystick to facilitate manoeuvring on the pontoon. The cruising speed is 32 knots and the maximum speed is 47 knots.
