Seafaring 34, the long-distance cruise in economy mode

The Seafaring 34 of the Seafaring Yachts yard

The Slovenian shipyard Seafaring is launching its second economic trawler model, Seafaring 34. With elegant lines, a simple and comfortable layout for cruising, and a cruising speed of 10 uds?; Seafaring offers an economical cruise program.

After the launch of Seafaring 44 in 2016, the Slovenian shipyard of the same name launched its second model in 2019, the Seafaring 34 (10.80 m overall). Like its big brother, this elegant trawler will be available in a flybridge version, with optional solar panels. The boat's program, "navigate slowly and efficiently with adequate comfort for the long cruise."

To match its trawler's programme, Seafaring also offers an optional hybrid propulsion system to replace the 320-hp Yanmar inboard. If the maximum speed is 24 knots, the cruise speed of 10 knots responds well to "quiet" navigation On the largest model, the site reports a consumption of 10 L/h at a speed of 10 knots.

Externally, the lines are modern, with a very angular design and straight lines, similar to the linear glass wheelhouse. The bilge moves forward to give V to the hull and provide finer water inlets.

At the rear is a small water access platform that can optionally be extended and hydraulically operated. Access to the cockpit is secured with a wicket door and there is only an L-shaped bench seat installed on the port side with a large storage hatch in the centre. If the exposed model has a teak floor, this is an option. Finally, no cockpit table is planned, "it's better to provide your own table" which will therefore only be used for anchoring or harbouring. The engine compartment, which is accessed from the outside area, is also equipped to accommodate a washing machine and generator.

In the fully glazed wheelhouse, which offers a panoramic view of the outside, there is all the necessary equipment for a comfortable cruise. The interior design is simple and modern, without frills, with an L-shaped saloon to starboard with a height-adjustable table (and therefore an additional bed) and a fully equipped kitchen facing each other with plenty of storage space.

The steering station is located at the starboard bow with two helm seats and a large modern dashboard with touch screen. However, two comfortable helm seats with lift-up seats only allow standing upright driving due to the distance from the steering wheel. Two side doors offer the possibility of exiting directly on the two decks and accessing the front, where it is possible to install a sunbathing area.

Access under the bridge is via a descent to port. There are two double cabins (or with twin beds in the guest cabin and a scissor bed at the front) and a bathroom. The front owner's cabin is spacious and offers plenty of storage space.

With this model, which is certainly a little cubic, but elegant, and simple but comfortable fittings, Seafaring is positioning itself in the mid-range market, offering an economical alternative to Bénéteau's Swift Trawler 35.
