Cetera Yachts officially launched at the Boot Düsseldorf, is a new Italian brand of motor boats, launched by renowned professionals in transalpine sailing. Salvatore Serio - former president of the French shipyard Dufour Yachts - has joined forces with the Fiat Mare shipyard - a manufacturer of fibreglass pleasure boats since 1960 - which will assemble the future range at its Baia shipyard (Naples).
A new distribution of spaces
The first model of Cetera Yachts is a motor yacht 60 feet long (18.28 m overall) and 18 feet wide (5.48 m). Designed by naval architect and designer Francesco Guida, it models the concept wanted by the brand: "the multispace boat."
The distribution of the interior and exterior spaces has been revised to include all the living spaces and cabins on the main deck. The designer was inspired by a single-storey villa to design the range. The objective is to maximize the use of available space and improve the quality of life on board.

"Placing the cabins on the main deck keeps them away from engines, generators and the chop for more acoustic comfort", explains the designer.
This first model is aimed at young families, hedonistic singles and superyacht owners who want to return to a smaller yacht. According to the site, it combines the advantages of a traditional "turnip", a trawler and a flybridge launch.
"The Multispace boat offers an extension of life on board by providing approximately 30 m2 of additional living space on the CETERA 60 compared to other yachts of the same size, designed in the traditional way," explains Francesco Guida. "In addition, the clear division between technical spaces and living spaces allows for faster and more efficient construction and therefore cost savings that must be passed on to the customer, he adds.

A main bridge that unites all living spaces
The main deck - with a 2 m height under the beam - has been raised to provide a better view of the outside through the very large windows. On this level there are 2 suites and a guest cabin with twin beds, each with its own bathroom. A rather unusual arrangement since the night space is generally located on the lower level on motor boats of this size.

The lounge/bar is located at the front of the main deck with a 180° view and a direct opening on the large front terrace. Here too, the layout is not common since the saloon is usually located at the stern, in the immediate vicinity of the cockpit.

In fact, on the Cetera Yachts, there are two cockpits. One in the back and one in the front. The freeboard height has been raised at the front to provide maximum privacy at anchor or in the harbour. This results in a very rounded and high structure at the bow. The transom is transformed into a bathing platform, which is easily accessible from the aft cockpit.
To gain in habitability, the Italian shipyard has omitted the gangways, and we move from the front cockpit to the rear cockpit via a central passage, "safe and easy access, even for young children."

A lower bridge dedicated to the technical area
With this arrangement, the lower deck is totally dedicated to the technical areas (pumps, batteries, air conditioning, hydraulic systems...) and the crew. The latter is installed at the front of the boat - away from the machines - in a cabin for 2 people with a separate shower, which can be accessed from the cockpit. There is also a laundry room on this level.
A convertible upper deck
The upper deck is accessed from an internal staircase at the stern. This convertible space offers a generous living space/meal for 8 people, with an open kitchen. There is also the steering station for 2 people.

The side and rear windows open and close with an innovative system, but the site does not provide more information on this subject. Finally, a suspended skylight system brings even more natural light to the interior.

Thermal or hybrid propulsion
The Cetera 60 will receive two Volvo Penta IPS 600s for a maximum speed of 23 knots and a cruising speed of 20 knots. The CETERA YACHTS range will also include various hybrid propulsion solutions for comfortable, economical and environmentally friendly navigation.
An easy yacht
"The main characteristics of the boat can be summarized by the adjective "easy": easy to live on board, easy to maintain and easy to build, says Ernesto de Bartolomeis, general manager of the Fiart Mare shipyard, where the first CETERA 60 is currently under construction. "When I first became interested in design, I immediately realized that it was very different from what we usually produce at Fiart Mare. We have therefore decided to create a company dedicated to the development of this new range of products. We really think it represents something completely new on the market with features that will appeal to a wide range of international customers he adds.
