The NY24, the new Italian daycruiser

The NY24, from the new Italian shipyard Nerea Yacht

A new Italian shipyard, Nerea Yacht, appears on the nautical construction scene. Its first model, an elegant and sporty 7.35 m daycruiser the NY24 will be on display on the Boot Düsseldorf at the end of January 2019.

Elegance and modernity

The NY24 is the first model of the young Italian shipyard Nerea Yacht. This 7.35 m Italian-style daycruiser was designed by ideaeITALIA designers Alessio Battistini and Davide Bernardini. Its lines are elegant and modern with a very large wooden front axle and an inverted shearing, very popular today. Its sleek windshield with side lapels also gives it an automotive design, as does its transom, which is a little reminiscent of the Princess R35.

"The NY24 was to reflect the Italian style and be designed as a work of art, a tailor-made creation."

Comfort on board and good seaworthiness

The transom is tiered, with a swimming platform at the water's edge and a sunbathing area on the upper floor. In the cockpit, which appears from the first well-protected images, there is a large U-shaped bench seat in the rear with a table. By lowering the table, you get a very large sunbathing area. Two drawer refrigerators, a sink and a stove can be installed as an option.

The steering station is installed on starboard with a bolster pilot seat and passenger seat on port. On the images, we think we can see a large standing navigation screen as a dashboard.

But what distinguishes the NY24 is its cabin, which is accessed via two sliding glass doors, with a saloon that can be converted into a double bed and a closed bathroom. In addition to the two side hull windows, the cab door glazing brings light to the interior. Finally, for more comfort, an audio-video system invites you to enjoy yourself.

"Careful studies of proportions have been carried out to obtain large interior spaces in only 7.35 m long."

Finally, the NY24 will receive Volvo Penta D4 300A sterndrive propulsion and is expected to reach a maximum speed of 32 knots and a cruise speed of 26 knots. Ideal for spending a day at sea with family or friends in complete relaxation and safety, the NY24 will also serve as a tender for superyachts.

Innovative material

Concerned about the environment, the Italian shipyard has chosen an innovative material for the finish of the boat, called Oltremateria: water-based, waterproof, breathable, frost-resistant, flexible, recyclable, free of cements and epoxy resins.

From workshops to entrepreneurship

The Italian company Nerea Yacht is the idea of Dario Messina, who has been working in the boat building sector for 20 years. In 2003, he began working for the largest Italian construction sites (Dominator, Cayman, Pershing-Ferretti Group) and trained in various construction techniques and processes (carpentry, plumbing, painting...).

In 2008, he launched his own assembly company and worked for Pershing in particular. Many services will follow for the older ones.

Until 2018, when the entrepreneur decided to start building his own boat "tailor-made". "To create something that evokes emotions, reflecting one's own personality, a fascinating, technological and innovative object of superior quality." He then launched Nerea Yacht, based near Fano, in the Marche region of central Italy.
