Targa 37 is available in a Mediterranean version

The Targa are semi-custom boats and there are as many versions as there are owners' desires. The Targa 37 is now available in a less northern version, with a redesigned cockpit, a more open interior and a layout inspired by the Targa 42. A model that seduced us with its quality of construction and finishing and its spacious layout.

Targa - imported into France by SnipYachting - adapts the Targa 37 to Mediterranean cruising with a flybridge version and rear door. The cockpit has been redesigned to accommodate a large complete U-shaped bench seat at the stern, even at the entrance door, thanks to two folding seats with cushions and a double cockpit table.

This rear space is well protected by a large roof cap and receives a fixed plancha (Mediterranean side required). The flybridge - which receives a second helm station and an L-shaped bench seat - is accessed by steps to starboard secured by a handrail.

At the rear, there is a large swimming platform for easy boarding and disembarking and at the front, a beautiful sunbathing area on the roof of the forward cabin. It is easy to move around on board, either via the gangways well protected by the high bulwarks and handrails, or via the side doors at the helm station.

Unlike the more northern model, this 37 has a bay window at the rear, inspired by the Targa 44 and 46, "It is a redesign of the moulds to offer a boat open to the stern, less northern and more circulating", explains Sébastien Seydoux, President of Snip Yaching.

For the interior design, the site was inspired by the 42 - since replaced by the Targa 44. The galley has been split in two with a sink on the port bow and a hot corner with hob and oven in the starboard corridor. Facing each other is a large U-shaped square thanks to the removable backrest of the co-pilot seat. The steering station is located on the starboard side and has two large navigation screens.

The owner's cabin is installed at the front and has a large double bed with a high headroom and a separate bathroom with toilet and shower. As on the other models, the cab closes completely with a hood and two hinged doors. Normally, it is from the Targa 42 that we have a large owner's cabin.

At the port stern, a very large cabin with a double bed and a single bed is accessed via a few steps, ideal for a child or to store things. It also has a separate bathroom with toilet and shower.

Once again, we recognize the superb quality of construction of the Targa - the boats are built on the Finnish shipyard in the Botnia region - and the very beautiful finish, with many well thought-out details. The interior is made of wood, but thanks to the light-coloured linings - just like the upholstery - the large windscreen and the glass superstructure.

If we did not have the opportunity to test the Targa 37 in navigation we were able to pilot its little brother, the 27.2 whose passage at sea is very smooth. The boat is very responsive and manoeuvrable and we can be sure that the largest model has the same sailing qualities, recognised for all the models of the Finnish shipyard. The Targa 37 receives in its standard version 2xD6 330 HP Volvo Penta for a cruising speed of 25 to 30 knots and costs 538?870 ? TTC.
