Groupe Bénéteau has just set up a new financing service to help first-time buyers make their dreams come true. Like what exists in the automotive industry, SGB Finance (the group's financial subsidiary) offers Leasyboat.
More and more, the user is operating not at a purchase cost, but rather at a monthly cost:"How much will my boat cost me every month?" This framework is reassuring for the user, especially for the newcomer in the yachting industry who is afraid not to control his expenses.
Thus the Leasyboat includes the purchase of the boat, but also includes the maintenance cost of the engine and the all risk insurance of the boat. By buying his boat with Leasyboat, the new owner is assured of his monthly payments and above all already has the surrender value at the end of the contract. This depends on the models and the duration of the contract, but is between 45 and 60% of the new price.
For the launch of Leasyboat, SGB Finance offers it only on outboard motor boats (single engine) in the packages offered by the group's brands (Bénéteau with Suzuki and Jeanneau with Yamaha). This offer is limited to a maximum of 100 000 €. The contribution made by the buyer must be between 0 and 15% maximum. The duration of the contract is between 3 and 5 years.
A small boat for a good start
With Leasyboat, a buyer of a Leader 5.5 WA with 115 hp Yamaha for example who does not want to bring a contribution will only have to pay monthly instalments of 392,30 € and will be able to use his boat at leisure during 5 years. At the end of this time, he can either buy back the boat for 16 693,50 € (52% of the purchase value). Either start over with a new purchase. During the whole period of use, it will not be occupied neither of the insurance nor of the engine maintenance. Only shipping costs and boat maintenance (fairing and antifouling in particular).

The options taken into account
Leasyboat financing is decided with the dealer who sells the boat. It is therefore entirely possible to integrate all options into the purchase price. It is the total amount of the boat that is fully financed. It is also used to set the final redemption price.
