Web series / The Marquesas remain a paradise for sailors

Marie, Dario and the dog Oï continue their discovery of the Marquesas. A paradisiac journey from island to island. Like many sailors before them, they fall under the spell of these enchanting islands.

Mary tells us the continuation of this cruise in the Marquesas :" We visit the magnificent island of Ua Pou with the strange relief. From the sea, it looks like a palace surrounded by fortresses that are in fact basalt peaks gushing out of the water!

Then we set course for Nuku Hiva, the main island of the Marquesas. But despite its status as capital, Nuku Hiva remains a very wild island. There we met the main farmer on the island who runs a small farm in Anaho Bay. Once a week, he makes the journey on horseback to Hatieu with his cargo of fruit and vegetables (3 km on the mountainside only accessible on foot or on horseback), from where they will be loaded onto a pickup that takes them to Taioahe where they will be sold

The Marquesas remain our favorite part of this trip: the welcome of the people, the beauty of the landscapes and the isolation of the archipelago which allowed him to be preserved from the madness of the world which surrounds him. Here more than anywhere else in Polynesia, the ancestral culture is still very rich and present

We will keep an unforgettable memory of his few weeks spent in"Terre des Hommes".
