Web series / Tivano: The Book!

How to manage 2 young children on a long trip around the world? That's what Charlotte tells, a family trip on the sailboat Tivano. An initiatory journey for the family that she tells in a book.

The readers of SailingNews.com know the crew of Tivano well. One year ago, in autumn 2017, this Halotis 38 set sail from La Rochelle with Charlotte (mother), Pierre (father skipper) and their 2 children Julia and Gabriel (2 years old and 1 year old at the start) on board.

The"challenge" of this family cruise was not in the journey - a trip around the world in the tropics - but in the family management complicated by the presence of these 2 adorable but turbulent little blonde heads.

Tivano

Already in Polynesia

One year later, Tivano dropped anchor in Polynesia after crossing 2 oceans (Atlantic and Pacific). A complete half-tour of the world told for our greatest pleasure via the video episodes that you were able to follow regularly while reading Bateaux.com ( videos still available here of course! ).

If the videos present the good moments of navigation, encounters and discoveries, such navigation deserves to go deeper into the story. That's what Charlotte just did when she published a book.

A captivating book

When she told me about this publishing idea, I was a little scared: afraid to read once too many stages of a trip around the world. But this book "From Seas to Mother" mainly tells the family adventure from the inside. Based on the events of the trip, Charlotte makes us discover the constraints of sailing with young children, the difficulties of relationships between the 4 individuals in an enclosed space and especially the evolution of these relationships, with always the joy of living this as a family.

Tivano

Embedded education

This book is real therapy. Not hesitating to expose the mistakes of parents in education, Charlotte makes us experience the evolution of children (and parents) in this special relationship when we find ourselves on a boat. The author tells us about the evolution of family relationships, the richness of exchanges, the constraints and the joys of living, through this adventure all four of them on their sailboat Tivano. It is a real treasure trove of situations and information for those who one day imagine casting off or for all the parents who will remain ashore.

Stowaway on Tivano

Maybe the rest of the trip in the next volume? We will then see the end of this world tour with an additional passenger who should soon disembark on board. To be continued..
