A call for applications to join the sector has just been opened. This course consists in giving time and means to 2 sailors to progress and reach the highest level of ocean racing. This scheme is open to highly motivated sailors aged 18 to 24 with the ambition of making it their profession.

A first selection on file
Applications are open until midnight on 24 September 2018. The files to be filled in are available from the Pôle Finistère Course au Large. On September 27, 2018, a committee composed of sailing professionals, FFVoile technical executives and representatives of major partners will select from these applications a maximum of 9 candidates who must meet several criteria:
- Born between 01/01/1994 and 30/09/2000
- To be licensed at FFVoile in 2018
- Never have participated in the Solitaire du Figaro
- Not to be engaged with another sponsor after the selections.
But above all, to be a motivated young sportsman, with a great ability to excel, a good sporting culture and a sense of competition. The"perfect winner" is a sailor with sea and offshore experience, with the soul of a project manager (leadership skills and human and relational qualities).
Technical and sporting events
Candidates selected on the basis of their applications will be evaluated during 5 days of tests organised in October 2018. The assessment covers all the skills needed by a sailor to successfully complete a high-level sports project:
- Weather, tactical, psychological, physical evaluations...
- Individual interviews
- Crewed sailing on Figaro Bénéteau 2.
