39 years after leaving the X-Yachts shipyard, the X-79 number 1 returns to Denmark. Launched in 1979, it was the first of a series of more than 500 boats that was the first model launched by this Danish shipyard.

The boat was found for sale in Jersey. It was bought by two of the creators of X-Yachts: Birger Hansen and Lars Jeppesen. The two men picked up the boat themselves and transported it by sea.

Birger Hansen who presents the boat in this video is obviously very moved by this reunion. Behind this hull hides a large part of the history of the X-Yachts shipyard.

The will of the shipyard is to completely renovate this sailboat by putting it back in its original configuration, in particular with the 3 bands at the waterline, the distinctive sign of the X family. The lines will also be removed. Indeed, this yacht did not originally have any.

The boat will be ready to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the shipyard in 2019 and participate in the Gold Cup that will take place in Haderslev, Denmark on this occasion.
