Parker Monaco 110, two well hidden outboards

The Parker Monaco 110

Parker Boat presented its largest model at La Rochelle in September 2017. The Parker Monaco 110 was eagerly awaited, as much for its design as for its characteristics: a boat that is closed, yet very open to the outside, but above all, an outboard boat whose engines have been "hidden". Discovery of this model for which we had a big crush and which is perfectly suited to small family cruising.

Presented in a prototype version in La Rochelle (September 2017), it was in Paris that the Polish shipyard Parker Boat decided to present its new model, the Parker Monaco . "It's the first boat over 30 feet tall made of brewed tea." explains Olivier Kaczmarek, Sales Manager. This 33-footer - which required 3 years of work - is the first outboard motorboat in the new Parker range, designed by Tony Castro. It has a semi-planing hull designed for inboard boats and a straight bow inspired by the XO Boat brand. " This design not only increases performance, but also keeps a spacious front cabin and a very spacious mid-cabin as well" explains Olivier.

Here are the main features of this new model:

  • Outboard motors covered with a sunbathing area to reduce noise and vibrations and save space on board. "These latest-generation 4-stroke outboard engines are more economical than inboard engines, offer better value for money and a good power-to-weight ratio, but also lower maintenance costs. As for the noise, this way you maximize soundproofing, even with the windows and doors open" details Olivier.
  • A closed boat, but open. "The wheelhouse provides shelter, but by opening the harmonica door, windows and sunroof, you get a boat that's completely open to the outside."
  • A beautiful height and an important luminosity with very many windows.

In the cockpit, there is a bench seat with a sunbathing area at the stern that covers the engines. Mounted on a slide, it can be moved forward to take the engines out of the water for example. In this space, a side door makes it easy to enter and exit the Parker Monaco 110. The boat is easy to move around on board, particularly through the wider starboard foredeck with integrated floor storage for fenders. A side wheelhouse door makes it easy to get in and out at cockpit level, especially for manoeuvring. The foredeck receives a very nice sundeck with retractable handrails and backrests and is well protected by a high balcony.

In the wheelhouse, light floods in, with the large, almost uninterrupted glass, large sliding glass sunroof and large cockpit door that opens fully. The layout and decoration is tasteful and modern with light woods and fabrics (grey during our visit). "The paint was spray-painted, giving the boat a warm sandblasted look." details Olivier. Once all the windows are closed, the silence is impressive, we are not disturbed by outside noise, which is pleasant, especially in the port.

To starboard, the galley is equipped with a diesel hob (also serves as a heater), a sink, numerous stowages, a refrigerator (in addition to the cockpit one) and an oven. Clever, handles with half-turn so that the stowages do not open during navigation. On the floor, the technical compartment also serves as a storage area with dedicated bins. Opposite, the L-shaped saloon serves as an additional sleeping area.

The starboard cockpit, forward of the galley, has a double seat. The dashboard is spacious and has all navigation equipment: instrument panel with Simrad's 16 inch GPS/fishfinder, chart plotter with check-point, speedometer, engine data display and autopilot.

Below deck, the Parker Monaco 110 is available in four layout versions. In the standard version (the one we visited at the Nautic), there is a beautiful double cabin at the bow with plenty of headroom and opening portholes to ventilate the space. The mid-cabin (port side) has a lot of space with a nice spacious cabin. Here too, the height is impressive. A bathroom on the starboard side completes the overall layout, with a separate shower on the port side and a sink on the starboard side with toilet in the centre. The place is spacious and bright, but without any opening to the outside.

The three other possible versions are :

  • Family (three cabins and two bathrooms)
  • Double (Two double cabins and two bathrooms)
  • Weekend (twin cabin at the bow, double cabin at the stern and bathroom).

The Parker Monaco 110 is particularly well equipped for short cruising, with several cabins, a beautiful bathroom and a well equipped kitchen. On board there are numerous sunbathing areas, a saloon/cockpit completely open to the outside and above all outboard engines that are easy to forget. Moving around on board is easy, the boat is well secured with a gate at the stern, high balconies and a well protected starboard gangway. The Parker Monaco 110 can accommodate four different engine powers: 2x150, 2x200, 2x250 and 2x300 HP.

Price : 257 190 euros with 2x300 hp
