Aquamot speedboats are an alternative to Torqeedo. These low-powered outboard motors are completely autonomous and can be mounted on the transom of a dinghy, boat or small sailboat.
The Aquamot, made in Austria, are entirely made of aluminium (unlike the Troqeedo, which are made of plastic). The Lithium battery is integrated in the head, the motor is in the base plate.

The Aquamot is available in 2 power ratings: 1100 W and 1600 W, which corresponds to combustion engines of approximately 3.5 hp and 5 hp. The weight of the motor is 13 kg (precisely between 12.2 and 13.9 kg depending on the length of the shaft) while the (removable) battery weighs 4.7 kg. It is a 640 Wh Li-ion model. In terms of autonomy, it is about 1h30 at half speed and falls to 40 minutes at full speed.
The engines are now distributed in France by the Fenwick company - which already distributes Tohatsu outboards and Yanmar inboard engines. Aquamot engines are available at 1900 euros (Trend 1.1) and 2200 euros (Trend 1.6)
