A good novel to help the SNSM

"L'orphelin qui traversait le temps" is the first work of Jean-François Bothorel. This sailor and volunteer at the SNSM offered to donate part of his profits to the Bandol station. A good read and a good gesture

Jean-François Bothorel is chief mate on the ocean-going tug Abeille Flandre. Like his boat based in Toulon, this Mediterranean has already seen the sea. Whether it is on a yacht, having already crossed the Atlantic twice under sail, or cruising with his family, this man is also a volunteer at the SNSM station in Bandol.

In spite of a full schedule, he decided to publish a novel. An adventure story that brings us back to the hot periods of our history (the extermination of the Jews during the war in 1937 and the black slave trade in 1660). The novel is well-crafted with a plot that keeps us awake until the end.

But this novel is not very marine, you will tell me... Indeed and yet we have decided to present it to you on Bateaux.com because the sales revenues will help the SNSM of Bandol. Indeed, this station is to receive a new star which will be christened on April 27, 2018. And funds for the operation of the station are welcome.

In addition, we were surprised by the quality of the book, the thoroughness of the writing and the accuracy of the descriptions and documentation. This story which takes place in the south of France (among others) is based on real anecdotes (especially the episodes in Sanary-sur-Mer which really saw a network of resistance fighters organizing themselves to help Jews).

If you are looking for a good book, we strongly recommend that you read The Orphan Who Passed Through Time. You will also make a good gesture for the SNSM of Bandol.
