Bayliner continues to develop the VR range from the bottom up. After the launch of the VR5 and the VR6 in 2016, originally available in inboard version and since 2017 outboard version, the American manufacturer presents for the 2018 season the VR4 a bowrider of 5.85 m. With this smaller model in the range, which follows the same concept as the VR5, Bayliner clearly targets boaters looking for their first unit.
"The VR4 replaces the 175 VR that was available with the Mercury 3L. When the engine manufacturer decided to stop this engine, the boat was also stopped." explains Marianela, Bayliner's marketing manager.
There is therefore a large cockpit at the stern with a U-shaped bench seat and a cockpit table (optional). As an option, a rear sunbathing complement transforms the space into a comfortable place to relax. The backrest of the port bench is removable and allows either a cockpit bench and a co-pilot seat or a sunbathing bench facing the sea. The pilot seat to starboard, with foldable lower part, pivots to face the cockpit.
The large windscreen with central opening closes completely (with a door between the two cockpits) and protects the steering console well. The bowrider has a U-shaped seat and can be transformed into an integral sunbathing area. "On the VR5, we didn't propose this element from the beginning, it was an option", explains Marianela.
Like the two largest models, the VR4 is available in both inboard and outboard versions. In both cases, it keeps its beautiful bathing platform for easy access to the sea, since the deck layout remains the same in both versions. In the inboard version (Z-Drive), the engine compartment is transformed into a large cargo compartment to store equipment.
Like the rest of the range, the VR4 is self-bailing and is available with many comfort options (hood pack, cushion pack or wakeboard tour pack among others).
On the motorization side, it receives as standard a 100 hp 4 stroke outboard or a 200 hp 4 stroke catalyzed inboard. As an option, it can be equipped with a 115 hp 4 stroke outboard or a 170 hp diesel inboard. The VR4 is delivered from 28,440 euros without motor.
