The Swift Trawler 35, a modern replacement for the Swift Trawler 34

The Swift Trawler 35, the latest addition to the Bénéteau range

In 2003, Bénéteau launched the Swift Trawler 34, a 10.98 m boat designed for travel in the greatest comfort. In 2017, the Vendée shipyard will present the new successor to the 34, the Swift Trawler 35, 11.29 m long. A modernised and improved version of the oldest model in the current range.

The Swift Trawler 35 (11.29m) will replace the Swift Trawler 34 (10.98m), which was introduced in 2009, and now consists of the Swift Trawler 44 (13.88m), Swift Trawler 50 (14.99m) and Swift Trawler 30 (9.99m), the smallest model in the range, which will be launched in 2015.

It is especially in terms of exterior design that the newcomer to the trawler range stands out from its predecessor with a more modern, less fishing design with large windows all around the wheelhouse. It also gains in interior and exterior space with an extended length and width: 0.31 m longer overall length, 0.83 m hull length and 0.5 m width.

Apart from the cockpit, which has been modified with a double door for wider and easier access to the boat, the layout remains more or less the same. From the cockpit you can access the wheelhouse, which is very bright with a 360° view. There is a saloon with a convertible sofa for additional sleeping space, isolated from the wheelhouse by a curtain. At the front, on the starboard side, there is the steering position with a bench seat for 2 people, with the U-shaped kitchen opposite.

The owner's cabin is located forward, a cabin with bunk beds is installed on the port side and the fully equipped shower room with separate shower faces it on the starboard side.

Outside, the cockpit is occupied by two rear folding seats. In order to be able to navigate in all weather conditions, the cockpit awning - which extends to the end of the starboard gangway - folds into the fly structure. The external awning on the side door to the passageway closes off this space for privacy.

To access the foredeck, the gangways should be wide enough, while the numerous handrails and the height of the balconies make it safe to move around on board. On the foredeck, as on the previous model, there is a large sundeck.

The flybridge, which can be accessed from the cockpit, can be sheltered either by a soft top with integrated LEDs or a semi-rigid bimini. In this space, the saloon can accommodate 6 people around the table, who have a fridge (optional) for eating. To starboard, the Swift Trawler 35 has a second cockpit with a swivelling pilot seat. Finally, at the stern, the flybridge is occupied by a double sundeck (optional) or offers enough space to store a dinghy.

Designed on a semi-planing tulip-shaped hull, the Swift Trawler 35 has a Cummins 425 HP engine. This travel boat privileges comfort on board for a family cruise rather than speed and therefore has adequate technical characteristics. Thus, it accommodates two water tanks with a capacity of 2x150 L as well as two grey water tanks.
