A fire ravages the Everett Marina in Washington District

A major fire destroyed several boats in the Everett Navy (Washington, USA) on Saturday, July 8, 2017. A scene filmed from a drone by a private individual.

On Saturday, July 8, 2017, a fire broke out at 8 p.m. in the Everett Marina in the Washington district of the United States. A call from the burning boat was made shortly after 7:30 p.m. while docked at D dock, just north of Anthony's Woodfire Grill. The fire quickly spread to other boats and five people had to jump into the water to escape the flames. All were rescued and there were no major injuries. Only one person was slightly injured and was treated on the scene.

In total, four boats sank while one remained afloat, heavily damaged. The smoke from the scene could be seen several kilometres away. Investigators were called to the scene and the cause of the fire could finally be determined. The first boat - which was also busy - experienced mechanical problems and caught fire. While drifting, it collided with four other vessels, some of which were busy.

The scene was filmed from a drone, and the numerous comments on social networks question the effectiveness of the firefighters to put out the fire. What do you think about that?
