360° pictures / Bavaria C57, in the yacht yard

Bavaria took advantage of the German show to launch its latest C57. This new model is the biggest model ever built by the German shipyard and marks its willingness to invest in this niche of mini-yachts.

Announced with great fanfare at the Cannes trade fair (September 12016), the Bavaria C57 was presented to the public for the first time at the Düsseldorf trade fair in Germany (January 2017). With this Bavaria model, Bavaria has arrived on the flowerbeds of Hanse, Bénéteau Jeanneau and now Dufour, the latest to arrive with the 63 Exclusive.

The Bavaria C57 takes up the codes of these yachts halfway between large production and luxury yachts. Thus the access on board is via the large aft bathing platform. Indeed, given the "generous" height of the freeboards, access from a pontoon will remain difficult without passing through this platform. Once open, the platform reveals the tender garage. Access to the deck and cockpit is via a 3-step staircase (the only one on the port side), the starboard symmetry being reserved for the life raft stowage.

The cockpit is divided into 2 areas. The aft for manoeuvring and steering positions. The front for lazing around and the dining area. As on the Hanse, the tables can be lowered to transform the cockpit into a huge sunbathing area. An outside galley installed between the 2 bars completes the picture.

The descent is a little steep to get to the cabin. And there surprise! Bavaria has treated the decoration with dark woodwork which gives this cabin a traditional sailing ship look. This is a real break with other shipyards that often play the modernity card. Like it or not..

For the layout, Bavaria has chosen to place the owner's cabin in the forward triangle and fit out the aft with 2 guest cabins. In the saloon, the galley is positioned against the masthead bulkhead, far forward. Note the spacious chart table (a place that tends to disappear on sailing yachts).

With the c57, Bavaria has come up with a model that doesn't break with the traditional ones, but offers beautiful living space. Let's hope that the design of the new house architect Cossutti is just as efficient on the water. A notion that still remains to be discovered with the upcoming launch of this number 1.
