360° pictures / Targa 30.1, a marine boat to discover in detail

In December 2015, Snip Yachting (exclusive importer of Botnia Marine) presented at the Nautic the plans of the new Targa 30.1, evolution of the Targa 30 (which is no longer in the catalog). The boat was presented in preview at the Grand Pavois, the opportunity to discover it.

The Targa 30.1 (10.08 m) fills the space between the Targa 27 (8.9 m) and the Targa 32 (10.78 m), but its interior layout is based on the almost 11 m model. Its infusion hull is also the same as the 32 and the 44 and its hull is even deeper V-shaped. The wheelhouse is tilted forward to ensure a better passage at sea. "This model really finds its place between the 27 and 44 because it is less expensive than the 32 and especially proposed in single-engine version", explains François Blossier, director of Snip Yachting.

An elegant, high-performance single-engine aircraft

The model presented at the Grand Pavois was offered in "Black Line" finish, that is to say that it takes the Targa concept, but with a more modern finish (reworked windows, "black mask" windshield, black roof, stainless steel and matte black roll bar, matte black interior dashboard and exterior accessories) The gelcoat of the wheelhouse becomes white instead of the usual Targa color, which is off-white.

The Targa 30.1 is offered with a flybridge with an external cockpit, but can be available without. As a reminder, Targa boats can be customized according to customer requests. The boat is available in single or twin engine versions. At Grand Pavois it was presented as a single-engine, 400 hp aircraft, with a maximum speed of 37 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots, for a fuel consumption of 35/40 L per hour.

An ingenious and well finished layout

In the cockpit, there are two fixed benches with storage and a folding seat against the wheelhouse. The foredeck has a U-shaped bench seat and a seat against the wheelhouse. A cockpit table can be moved forward or aft to create a saloon and enjoy a meal outside.

As on all Targa models, the cockpit is completely enclosed and extended by a large bathing platform. Note the clever rear hatch to raise the base and not have to dive.

The wheelhouse, equipped with a ceiling window, is accessed through one of the two sliding side doors (starboard or port). On the starboard side, the cockpit is reclining, while on the port side, the co-pilot seat has a reversible backrest to enjoy the navigation or the saloon. The saloon table can be folded down to seat up to 6 people.

The kitchenette (fully covered) is equipped with a stove, a sink and a refrigerator. The dish drawers are cleverly built into the co-pilot seat.

In the center, we access to the front cabin (which closes completely) with two single beds. Note that the headroom is a bit low, especially when extended. On the other hand, there is a lot of storage space as well as a window that allows to ventilate the cabin.

At the back, the owner's cabin is equipped with a double bed and a single bed. The bathroom has an electric toilet, a sink and a shower. Again, there is plenty of storage space with portholes to ventilate the space. To note a descent in the back cabin not very stable.

In summary...

The Targa 30.1 has a well-finished, comfortable and rather high-end interior for a 10m helmsman. It has been designed in a clever way (steering console with several positions, cup holders on the flybridge, dish drawers, numerous storage spaces, backrest of the co-pilot seat removableâeuros¦) and can comfortably accommodate 5 people.
