The new superyachts not to be missed at the Monaco Yacht Show

Galactica Supernova

Every year, the Monaco Yacht Show presents more than 100 yachts and around 20 tenders, as well as the latest innovations in toys. Here's what not to miss this year at Port Hercules.

This 26 e edition of the Monaco Yacht Show will be an opportunity to discover 40 new motoryachts and 6 new sailingyachts, all to be launched in 2016. However, some are more expected than others such as Vanish a 66.25 m motoryacht from the Dutch shipyard Feadship. To design this aluminium and steel yacht, the shipbuilder collaborated with Eidsgaard Design. Note its open transom which has a gentle slope to the bathing platform, an innovative design requested by the owners. Another interesting feature is the large self-supporting staircase installed against a glass wall in the atrium or an ingenious extendable balcony for the owner's cabin.

With its 70 meters long, Galactica Super Nova is the largest yacht built by the Heesen shipyard to date. This fast displacement yacht has a top speed of 30 knots (tests have reached a speed of 30.3 knots) and owes its design to Espen Oino, which gives it an elegant look. With 357 m2 of deck space, there are many options on board: luxurious sundeck, large beach club, sunbathing, foredeck that can be used as a helipad or outdoor projection area, spa, jacuzzi or 6m infinity jet pool.

Fast and Furious is the first 55 m support vessel of the YS 5009 range from Damen Shipyard and will be used to demonstrate the value of a yacht support. On board you will find a complete range of toys, tenders, submersibles and diving equipment. The boat will be available for delivery in the fall of 2016. Support vessels are a new trend in the superyacht market. More and more owners appreciate their usefulness for storing all leisure items, but also for providing extra cabins for staff, or for accommodating larger helicopters.

The motoryacht Ouranos is a major achievement for the Italian shipyard Admiral Yachts. With a length of 50 m, she is considered one of the quietest yachts in existence - noise and vibrations - despite her traditional engine and tonnage of less than 500 GT. In fact, it obtained a score of 96/100 in the Rina Comfort Class Classification (awarding of marks according to safety, environmental or quality of navigation standards offered).

Elixir is an Amel 180 (55 m) from the famous Dutch shipyard Amels. To meet its owner's wishes and in collaboration with exterior designer Tim Heywood, Elixir has a glossy black border all around the superstructure and stainless steel accents. Also noteworthy are the sumptuous interiors created by designer Laura Sessa, with incredible sea views. Outside, there is a large sundeck, folding bulwarks on the main deck at the level of the indoor dining room or a balcony in the owner's suite.
