Keizer 42, the runabout revisited and extended

Siep Keizer and Jos Brehler have created Keizer Yachts, a brand new powerboat brand and are launching their first model in September 2016. The Keizer 42 is a sleek and spacious 13.42m long runabout that draws its inspiration from the legendary motorboats of the 1900s.

Modernizing the runabout

Keizer Yachts is a new brand that will enter the yachting market this September with the Keizer 42. For now, the founders are focusing on this model, even if the concept can be adapted to other sizes.

Based on the observation that existing motoryachts are expensive and not very livable, they decided to launch their own model.

In order to ensure the quality of the boats, the young brand relies on two important companies in the nautical sector: Vripack Architects for the design and naval architecture and Bavaria for their state-of-the-art production facilities.

The Keizer 42 is a modern runabout with a V-shaped hull, which has been developed over a long period of time to ensure perfect sea-keeping, comfort and safe sailing at both high and low speeds. The idea is to be able to sail on lakes and canals as well as on the sea.

In addition to its elegant and bold design (hence the use of the word runabout), the Keizer 42, which takes its design from the canoes of yesteryear, has a fairly spacious interior. "Usually, in runabouts, the interior space is small, but we tried to create a spacious interior, so you can stay for several days or even weeks with friends or family." explains one of the designers.

A spacious and elegant interior

Thus, the interior space has a headroom of 1.90 m with four berths and a bathroom with separate toilet and shower cubicle. There is a double bed at the front, followed by a living room with two sofas and a storage unit or a TV. The materials used (precious woods, leatherâeuros¦) highlight the boatâ??s high-end side, which is customizable according to the ownerâ??s needs. Deck portholes bring light to the interior of the cabin and ventilate the boat. In the center, there is a second cabin with two single beds.

A colorful and comfortable exterior

In the cockpit, the layout is comfortable with numerous sunbeds and convertible benches. The co-pilot's seat has an adjustable backrest to be used either as an armchair or as a sunbed. Behind is the saloon for meals, with the outside kitchen opposite (behind the cockpit). Finally, the aft cockpit area houses a very large sunbathing area, again with a removable backrest. The rear platform opens onto a garage for storing water toys.

Two points of sale in France

The Keizer 42 will be sold in France in two outlets: Arie de Boom and Navimarine (06). The founders are also looking for rental points. Prices are not yet finalized, but they will start at 230,000 euros HT (without options) for the gasoline version and about 280,000 euros HT (without options) for the Twin Volvo 300' Diesel version.
