It is in Evian that a new event of the F1 motorboating world championship will take place. Organized by the Yacht Motor club racing du Léman (F1H20) in collaboration with the city of Evian, the races will take place from 15 to 17 July 2016.
Remember that F1 boats are the most efficient racing boats on closed water (in shore).

An F1 catamaran is a high-tech boat, both in its design and its performance. Built in composite materials, these boats weigh about 500 kg. They are powered by a 2,500 cubic centimeter (2.5 liter) engine developing 400 hp at about 8,000 rpm.
At the end of a straight line, they can reach a top speed of 240 km/h. Seeking a minimum of contact with the water in order to reduce friction, the pilots adjust the trim so that only the propeller remains in permanent contact with the water. The permanent search for the limit sometimes offers beautiful free figures to the spectators.

The engine manufacturers use these races as showcases to promote their brands.
This year, you can follow the race live on Evian TV's Facebook page on Sunday, July 17.
