Storm-Bag, the storm that can now be adapted for catamarans

The Storm-Bag is a smart product that fits on all boats. A specific model for catamarans has just been designed.

How do you rig a storm jib when your sailboat is equipped with a furler? Simply send a Storm-Bag! This storm jib marketed by Delta Voiles comes to wrap the genoa previously furled. It is a double thickness sail packed in a ready-to-use bag.

Due to its cut, this product fits perfectly on monohulls whose sheets have firing points at deck level. However, for catamarans whose rails are installed on the deckhouse, this product was not suitable. This is now a thing of the past as the sailmaker has just developed a Storm-Bag with a Yankee-like shape and fairly high clews.

The use of the Storm-Bag is very simple. When the wind is picking up, once the genoa is furled, simply place the bag around it and connect the strop to the tack and connect a jib halyard. Two sheets, coiled up in the bag are ready to use. No knots to tie, no ropes to take out of a trunk, just three carabiners to close. Then the manoeuvre takes place in the cockpit without any risk of the crew being hit by the canvas. Once used, the Storm-Bag can be folded up to be used again as often as desired.

The Storm-Bag is the only solution for rigging a storm jib when your boat is equipped with a furling system. All the more so when it is impossible to install a dropable forestay as on catamarans. Once it has been sent, the performance is there, as the shape of the furling system ensures good air penetration, favouring upwind sailing.

The SB09h model will be able to equip among others all catamarans from 40 to 55 feet. It is available in the network of Delta Voiles sailmakers, in the Uship network or via the website www.storm-bag.com at the price of 1,656.00 euros.
