Story

January 24, 2016, an Océanis 48 of Dream Yacht Charter sank off the coast of Guadeloupe.

A distress call was received this Sunday by the Regional Operational Centre for Surveillance and Rescue of the Antilles-Guyana (CROSS-AG). The vessel reports having helm damage. A pleasure boat, the "dalton" present in the area came to its rescue and offered to tow it.

Alas, during the tow, the situation of the Joule worsened. She took on more and more water. Warned, CROSS dispatched a helicopter from the civil security. This helicopter supervises the transfer of the Joule's crew to the Dalton. Around 3 pm, the five crew members left the Joule.

The Gendarmerie Maritime then attempted to tow the vessel. An attempt that resulted in the total disappearance of the yacht 3 miles north of Guadeloupe. It is now in 600 metres of water.
