Forget about MaxSea, now talk about TimeZero! MaxSea is now grouping all its products (MaxSea, nobletec, MapMedia) under the TimeZero (TZ) brand. The TZ Navigator version dedicated to boating will land in spring 2016 with some big changes.
As a reminder, TimeZero is a graphic engine that allows to display the cartography in 3 dimensions with a surprising fluidity. The software, which runs on a PC under Windows, is a mapping software that integrates all navigation functions (boat information, weather and even routing as an option). This software works with MapMedia raster maps but also with Navionics and CMap vector maps.
A new user interface
To offer more comfort to users using touch screens, the interface has been redesigned. Indeed, more and more PCs are delivered with this type of screens and now TZ is moving towards a 100% touch use. While keeping the use of the mouse.
Professional functions accessible to boaters
Some of the new professional features will be made available to recreational users. This is the case of the advanced route management and the safety cone.
Road management
The new technology ensures the safety of a route when creating it: a color display (green/red) instantly indicates if the depth is sufficient for the passage of the ship. An automatic calculator will give information about the best time of departure or arrival according to the currents and tides.
Safety cone display
A safety cone will also be permanently displayed in front of the boat icon and will automatically sound an alarm if an obstacle or shoal is inside.
The V3 version of TZ Navigator will be available from April 2016 at a price starting at 500 euros plus VAT with a map area.
