10 years of love, sail and influence
On October 25, 2024, it will be exactly 10 years since two youtubers who knew nothing about sailing gathered several million enthusiasts around their adventures at sea. Riley Whitelum and Elayna Carausu have grown up and their community has expanded considerably since their videos aboard La vagabonde, the Cyclade 43 that was home to their first love, their passion for sailing and for video. Two children and two boats later, it's aboard their third unit, La Vagabonde 3, a brand-new Rapido trimaran, that they announce, after 2 years of teasing, the release of an application that will "bring yachting into the 21st century", according to them.
Birth of an application that aims to revolutionize sea travel

In a well-crafted video, Riley, Elayna and their partners tell the story of the app's birth, with all the dramaturgy we've come to expect from them. "Boaters all over the world needed to get together, to have a simple way to connect with each other and create bonds, on the water and on the web. SeaPeople is the app all boaters need: we've taken all the means of communication they currently have, packaged them nicely and imported them onto a single platform." To achieve this, they teamed up with another boating community, Les Young Cruisers. Together and remotely, they imagined this application, whose manufacture they outsourced to India, at low cost. A senior executive from Shopify invited himself into the long and laborious process of building this application, and gave the tool the technological credibility it lacked.
Find advice, a helping hand, love or friends
Thanks to SeaPeople, Riley and Elayna hope that boaters from all over the world will be able to meet up, exchange information useful to their voyage, share passions, pool resources and means to explore all the seas of the globe, and create a community that will enable everyone to feel less alone, especially nomadic parents looking for buddies for their children around an anchorage, for example. You can also find your other half, as part of the application is dedicated to romantic encounters, which, according to the creators, are a must-have part of life at sea for the vast majority of yachtsmen. It's all based on a classic geolocation system, which can be hidden if you're concerned about your safety.
The application is available for download on all platforms.
