Team Alvimedica first in Sweden

And that's it, it's the end! After 9 months of racing, the crews of the Volvo Ocean Race arrive in Gothenburg, Sweden. This last leg marks the end of this crewed round-the-world race: 11 stopovers, 38,739 miles, four oceans, five continents.

Team Alvimedica won the final leg, arriving in Gothenburg at 12:26:52. This is the first and last time in this Volvo Ocean Race that the youngest crew in the race (average age 32.5 years) has reached the top of the podium. The Turkish-Americans, who counted on the Frenchman Sébastien Marsset for this event, could not hold back their joy when they crossed the finish line on the Göta älu river.

Arriving first in The Hague for the pit stop, Team Alvimedica was the first to leave, one hour and 46 minutes before Dongfeng Race Team, its pursuer.
