MAPFRE wins at the Lisbon In-Port

This Saturday, June 6, was played the In-Port race of Lisbon of the Volvo Ocean Race, and it is the Spaniards of MAPFRE who win, for the second time the point.

With a light wind, the course was reduced, but it was nevertheless intense. For this reason, Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing arrived 1 second after MAPFRE. Team Alvimedica completes the podium and Dongfeng is in 6th place e place. Team Vestas Wind, which was returning to competition after its boat was grounded last November, came last, two minutes after Dongfeng.

The In-Port races are becoming more and more important at this stage of the competition as they will be used to break ties. And for now, four boats are involved. Dongfeng and Team Brunel are both on 22 points and are fighting for 2nd place e place in the general ranking, but in view of the results of the In-Port, it is the Dutch who win.

Team Alvimedica and MAPFRE are also tied on points with 27 points each. Even if the first ones keep the advantage and take the 4th place, they are still in the lead e place, the Spaniards are not far behind and are gaining points, especially with this second In-Port victory.
