The major nautical federations call for the sea to remain free

This Thursday, March 19, the leaders of nine of the main nautical federations were gathered in Paris to find solutions on the anchorage tax, which was adopted on Tuesday, March 3. All together, they launched the "Appeal to keep the sea free."

The major nautical federations have launched an appeal this Thursday, March 19, to keep the sea free. The aim of this appeal is to mobilize all sea users and coastal residents in defense of freedom of use and non-discrimination by money. They denounce any form of tax to have the right to anchor, dive or fish in a marine protected area.

To make their voices heard and that of all professionals, associations, unions, personalities, boaters or simple lovers of the sea, a website has been created, www.merlibre.fr. Yesterday morning, there were 9 signatures after the general assembly of the Federation of Nautical Industries and this Friday, March 20, at 10:30 am, there are now more than 800 signatures. Make your voice heard!

This appeal also shows the important role that maritime families play in the preservation of the economic and environmental balance of coastal areas. They are asking to be consulted upstream on decisions and to have their voices taken into account. The coastline must be preserved, but not through political intervention, which is not unanimous. Any decision must be taken in consultation and must be the right balance between protection and development of the coastline.

"The website www.merlibre.fr is developed specifically to collect signatures from those who wish to support the defense of the values of sea users. News on the subject will also be developed there."
