Titouan Puyo wins the Nautic Sup Paris Crossing 2014


The biggest European stand-up paddle competition, organized by the Nautic de Paris, took place this Sunday, December 7, between the National Library of France and the Quai de Javel. A second round was held on the Nautic spot.

This Sunday, December 7th took place the fifth Nautic Sup Paris Crossing, the biggest European stand-up paddle competition. 400 competitors were gathered to make this crossing of Paris on the Seine, among which champions of the glide like Kay Lenny or Antoine Albeau.

The start of the competition was given at 8 am, when the 400 competitors set off from the National Library of France, in the direction of the Quai de Javel. The 11-kilometer course (13.5 kilometers for the pros) was dense, with only 10 minutes separating the first 36 participants. The participants were supervised by the Navigation Services of the Seine, the River Police and the volunteers of the SNSM.

The course consisted in making the SUPers pass under the most beautiful bridges of Paris, from Bercy to the Eiffel Tower passing by the Pont Neuf, Notre Dame, the Conciergerie and the Musée d'Orsay. The professionals will have an additional difficulty on the course and will have to make a complete turn of the Ile de la Cité.

The first place in the professionals was taken by Titouan Puyo, ISA Long Distance World Champion in 2014, in 1 hour and 08 minutes. Note the great performance of Virginie Louppe, who finished 24 ème woman in the HandiSUP category. Antoine Albeau, in the Leisure category finished 8th and Kay Lenny, in the Pro category finished 7th.

The second round took place in the Nautic, on the Spot basin and gathered the finalists. The public was present to encourage the participants.
